Bio-D^TM products have gone through extensive laboratory analysis & testing to establish product integrity. Bio-D ^TM products have been tested as per ASTM D 4364-94 & ASTM D 1435-94 and have successfully passed these standards. Besides this Bio-D^TM products have also passed the Ecotoxicity testing, which substantiates that there is no negative impact on using these products.

Currently extensive trials and testing for composting as per ASTM D 5338-98, ASTM D 5510-94 & ASTM G 21-96 and more importantly full and complete ecotoxicity are also being conducted. 

As on date the test data and the use of Bio-D^TM plastics shows that there are no negative effects on the environment or to the quality of the end compost material. 

Summary of Test Results: 

'The Bio-D^TM Samples developed cracks and eventually converted into powder form in a span of 62 days.' 

'50% degradation/disintegration occurred in the first month, 85% in the second month & in the third month of natural weathering the given samples became completely brittle and in powder form just on touching.' 

'Samples are being rapidly consumed by A.niger (fungus).' 

'Samples showed no toxic effects to the soil bacteria.' 

'Samples showed no leaching effects and the leachates showed no decrease in the soil bacteria growth count, no zone of inhibition was observed around the samples and hence no toxic effects.' 

'No volatile matters were reported at different temperature intervals and insignificant traces of other metal ions were observed but within permissible limits.' 

'Plants showed no adverse effects and showed no inhibition of growth when compared with the control soil group, hence samples are safe for use.' 

'The sample complies with the requirements for the oral toxicity test by the oral route in mice according to USP24.'
